Overview The Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Nurse Compliance Officer to join our Compliance Division. This pivotal role involves ensuring that Louisiana nurses uphold professional standards of conduct and practice while also promoting public protection through fair and consistent application of regulatory and disciplinary processes. As an RN Compliance Officer, you will work at the intersection of nursing practice, administrative law, and public health, evaluating complaints and coordinating investigations. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following: Four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A bachelor's degree in nursing plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A master's degree in nursing or public health plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A doctorate in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
This highly responsible professional-level position is responsible for a broad range of activities related to the enforcement of the Nurse Practice Act and works to ensure that alleged violations of the Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Board Rules and Regulations, and state and federal laws, are appropriately investigated. Incumbent will provide medical and technical expertise required to investigate matters that include, but are not limited to, nurse practice or ability to practice safely, patient care, nurse licensure, student or applicant eligibility, and advancement/clinical progression. Incumbent must collect, analyze and utilizes sound judgment to interpret and apply policies, regulations. and procedures in handling of sensitive medical issues or non-routine investigative situations. Receives information regarding actions or omissions by licensees and others that may represent violation of the Nurse Practice Act; assigns a priority placement of investigation based on public protection needs; develops and initiates investigative plan; conducts extensive investigations by interviewing, securing evidence and information related to the matter under investigation, analyzing records, among others.
