In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and enforcement of compliance strategies across all business units, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Your expertise will guide the organization through complex legal landscapes, mitigate risks, and uphold our commitment to integrity and ethical standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape our legal framework while fostering a culture of compliance excellence and proactive risk management. Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive compliance programs aligned with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals. Experience in RESPA and Mortgage Compliance is a must Lead legal research initiatives utilizing tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay abreast of evolving laws including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation procedures, patent law, and other relevant legal areas. Provide expert guidance on complex legal issues related to estate planning, environmental regulations, immigration policies, securities transactions, and intellectual property rights. Oversee legal drafting processes for contracts, policies, and compliance documentation ensuring clarity and enforceability. Manage litigation matters by coordinating with external counsel and overseeing case strategies in areas such as personal injury claims or contractual disputes. Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis to inform decision-making and ensure organizational compliance with current laws. Lead negotiations with external partners or regulatory bodies to resolve legal issues efficiently while safeguarding organizational interests. Maintain an organized law office environment that supports effective legal administrative processes including case management and documentation control. Experience Extensive experience in corporate legal departments or law firms specializing in compliance-related legal practice areas such as securities law, environmental law, or tribal regulations. Proven track record of managing complex litigation cases from inception through resolution. Strong background in legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to interpret statutes and case law accurately. Demonstrated expertise in negotiation tactics that facilitate favorable outcomes for the organization. Familiarity with drafting comprehensive legal documents including contracts, policies, and regulatory filings. Prior experience in a senior legal leadership role with a focus on compliance management is highly preferred. Exceptional writing skills combined with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Legal administrative experience that ensures efficient management of case files, records retention policies, and compliance documentation.
