Job Description

Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC) is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Grants Compliance Monitoring Officer to support the oversight and compliance of federally funded housing programs, including the HOME Investment Partnerships Program and Housing Trust Fund (HTF). This position plays a critical role in ensuring that funded projects and partners meet all regulatory, reporting, and program requirements while supporting the development of safe, affordable housing across Mississippi. Key Responsibilities Monitor funded recipients to ensure compliance with program eligibility, property standards, and income verification requirements Conduct on-site and periodic inspections of development projects Track and perform long-term compliance monitoring on awarded projects Complete HUD-related reporting, including beneficiary data and activity accomplishments Collect and analyze compliance data from developers and nonprofit partners Maintain project monitoring files and documentation Track and report Section 3 compliance activities Develop and implement monitoring processes and procedures Provide compliance reports and updates to leadership Deliver training and technical assistance to program participants (developers, nonprofits, realtors, etc.) Utilize data systems to track performance and reporting (CAPER, MBE/WBE, Section 3, etc.) Stay current on federal and state housing regulations
Qualifications Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, public policy, accounting, or a related field Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial management, program management, or project management Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education
Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to interpret and apply federal regulations and guidelines Knowledge of affordable housing and community development programs Strong analytical and organizational skills Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial terminology Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle multiple projects Experience working with diverse populations and external stakeholders Additional Requirements Ability to travel and conduct site inspections (including in varying weather conditions) Valid driver's license (or ability to obtain one in Mississippi) Ability to occasionally work outside normal business hours A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
