Job Description

Trade Compliance Specialist About the Role Are you a dynamic Trade Compliance Specialist with a strong technical mindset? As a Compliance Specialist you will lead
HTS/ECCN
classifications, managing documentation, conducting audits and collaborating with logistics/legal teams to minimize risk. About the Department You will join a global team of logistics professionals supporting our US operations whilst ensuring all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations ensuring they are delivered efficiently and on time. Your Responsibilities Monitor and ensure compliance with national and international trade laws, including export controls, sanctions, and tariffs. Assign accurate tariff classifications (like HTS codes), verify Country of Origin (COO), verify Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and valuation details for all goods. Serve as the point of contact with government agencies like Customs or others, responding to inquiries and supporting external audits. Develop and implement internal policies and procedures, conduct audits, and provide training to other employees on compliance matters. Advise on how business initiatives align with regulatory requirements and help mitigate risks associated with non-compliance. Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to ensure smooth and compliant shipment clearance. What you bring In-depth Knowledge of international trade regulations, import/export laws, export controls (like ITAR and EAR in the US), sanctions (OFAC), customs regulations, and free trade agreements Analytical Skills to interpret complex legal and regulatory documents and apply them to specific business operations is crucial. Product Classification Expertise and Proficiency in using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs) for accurate product classification Communication & Detail Orientation are vital skills for working with cross-functional teams and government agencies.
