Job Description

Spang & Company has an opening for a Compliance Coordinator based at its corporate office in Pittsburgh, PA . This position will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining activities related to U.S. import and export compliance regulations across all divisions of the organization, including documentation, records maintenance, training, and regulatory support. Spang & Company is a diversified manufacturing company. Through the work of three unique product lines, we design, produce, and supply precision soft magnetic components and materials to the electronics industry and custom-engineered solutions to the power industry. The primary responsibilities for this position include performing denied party screenings, maintaining export compliance records, supporting end-user verification and certifications, maintaining ECCN, HTS, and Schedule B records, and assisting with ITAR registration activities. Additional responsibilities include maintaining export compliance manuals and technology control plans, supporting compliance audits and training initiatives, processing customer requests related to Conflict Minerals, RoHS, and REACH compliance, completing certificates of origin and customer surveys, and monitoring changes to applicable regulations and standards. This position will also interact with government agencies, support company-wide compliance initiatives, disseminate relevant regulatory updates to management, and help ensure compliance with company policies and federal regulatory requirements. Occasional travel may be required. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field along with 3-5 years of experience in a compliance or logistics position. Candidates should have knowledge of EAR and ITAR regulations, strong research and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general PC applications is required.
