We are looking for teammates who are: Able to communicate effectively and professionally Organized, detailed oriented, and capable of independently prioritizing tasks Eager to use their interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with employees, customers, and organizations Innovative with an eye for process improvement ideas What you will do: You will assist in leading the collection efforts of the district office to increase license and tax compliance.
Primary job duties include:
Under the supervisor's leadership, directing and coordinating the overall activities of the collection team Assisting in the assignment of cases and performing case reviews for Revenue Officers Managing assigned caseload for resolution and carrying out enforcement actions Assisting in preparing monthly status reports for coaching Assisting in the preparation of both individual and district dashboards Reviewing reports for trends and potential problems; recommending course of action; and assisting in forecasting section needs and direction Assisting in personnel related actions including time and leave requests, discipline, coaching, and performance reviews Assisting in reviewing processes and proposing system enhancements or modifications with Power Users and Subject Matter Experts Partnering with other districts and sections to develop training and assisting in the training to maintain uniformity across all districts and to ensure streamlined processes Assisting in the Quality Assurance review process Coordinating, leading, and/or participating in special projects, which can include external training, presenting at conferences, and conducting conferences with CPAs, attorneys, taxpayers, and taxpayer representatives, etc. Evaluating the Financial Institution Data Match Program and SCDOR Levy Program regularly. Seeking out, leading, and pursuing enforcement actions to promote tax compliance Requiring occasional non-regular working hours for special events/projects A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)
Additional Requirement:
A valid driver's license Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning. Tax related experience Collections experience

Training:
Collection Coordinators will participate in an onboarding program to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to successfully perform their job.
Hours:
Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week).
Telework schedule:
This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week after one year of employment with SCDOR.
