Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will oversee adherence to healthcare regulations, ensure accurate documentation, and promote a culture of compliance across our organization. Your expertise will help maintain the highest standards of ethical practice, safeguard patient information, and ensure that all operations align with federal and state regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced healthcare environment by championing compliance initiatives and supporting continuous improvement. Responsibilities Monitor and enforce compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations to protect patient privacy and data security. Review medical coding practices, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency in documentation. Stay current with Medicare guidelines, FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations, JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) standards, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits of clinical records and billing processes to identify potential compliance issues or discrepancies. Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that promote regulatory adherence across departments. Collaborate with clinical staff, billing teams, and management to provide training on compliance topics and updates. Prepare detailed reports on compliance activities, findings, and corrective actions for leadership review. Qualifications Proven experience in healthcare compliance management or related roles within medical or clinical settings. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, Medicare policies, FDA regulations, and JCAHO standards. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory guidelines accurately. Exceptional attention to detail in reviewing documentation and conducting audits. Effective communication skills for training staff and reporting findings clearly. Ability to stay organized while managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Compliance Certification Board (CCB) credentials are preferred but not required.
