Our team works directly with taxpayers to navigate complex IRS matters, reduce tax liabilities, and achieve favorable outcomes through Fresh Start programs and other resolution options. We are seeking an experienced Tax Resolution Specialist who can independently manage client cases from start to finish, including transcript analysis, tax return preparation, and IRS negotiations. Position Summary The Tax Resolution Specialist will be responsible for obtaining and analyzing IRS records, preparing and filing delinquent tax returns, evaluating resolution options, and negotiating directly with the IRS on behalf of clients. The ideal candidate has experience working with IRS collections, tax compliance, and Fresh Start initiatives. Key Responsibilities Obtain and review IRS Wage & Income Transcripts, Account Transcripts, Record of Account Transcripts, and Compliance Reports. Analyze client tax situations and identify the most effective resolution strategy. Prepare and file individual and business tax returns, including prior-year and delinquent returns. Communicate directly with IRS representatives regarding client accounts. Negotiate and manage IRS resolution programs, including: Installment Agreements Currently Not Collectible (CNC) Status Offer in Compromise (OIC) Penalty Abatement Requests Fresh Start Program Solutions Monitor case progress and ensure compliance with IRS deadlines and requirements. Review notices and correspondence from the IRS and state taxing authorities. Maintain accurate client records and case documentation. Provide clear updates and recommendations to clients throughout the resolution process. Assist with obtaining Powers of Attorney (Form 2848) and Tax Information Authorizations. QualificationsRequired Minimum 2 years of experience in tax resolution, tax representation, tax preparation, or a related field. Strong understanding of IRS collections procedures and tax compliance requirements. Experience interpreting IRS transcripts and account records. Knowledge of Fresh Start Programs and available tax resolution options. Experience preparing and filing federal tax returns. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and case management abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple client cases simultaneously. Preferred Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, Attorney, or equivalent tax representation experience. Experience using IRS e-Services and transcript delivery systems. Familiarity with tax resolution software and CRM platforms. Experience handling Offer in Compromise submissions and appeals.
