Job Description

Position Title:
Bank Compliance Assistant Department:
Credit & Compliance Paragon Bank has expanded from a small local community bank in Memphis, TN to a regional community bank now located in four states, TN, MS, GA, and NC with over 100 employees. SUMMARY The Bank Compliance Assistant supports the compliance department by performing assignments related to the Bank's lending compliance, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti Money Laundering (BSA/AML), and other consumer compliance programs to ensure adherence to state and federal laws and regulations. This includes assisting in monitoring activities, preparing compliance reports, performing regulatory screenings, and supporting audits and training efforts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with creating a compliance program and continued maintenance Keeping management and other bank personnel informed of the implementation of new regulations or changes to previous regulations. Provides support for the process of documenting and responding to consumer complaints concerning the Bank's policies and procedures. Prepare for regulatory examinations and ensure a corrective action process. Assist with the review and preparation of detailed reports of internal audit findings, presenting any irregularities or exceptions and notifying the Vice President of Credit and Compliance of those identified areas that need improvement. Assists with the completion of reviews, including exception reports, change control maintenance, and related documentation. File reports as required. Focus on areas that pose high risk. Participate in necessary education and training to attain essential knowledge. Monitor compliance with Regulation CC and provide training for bank staff as needed. Analyze and report HMDA data on the banks HMDA Loan Application Register (LAR). Assist with the analysis of the bank's CRA Risk Assessment. Assist with the analysis of the bank's Compliance Risk Assessment. Aid and perform other related duties as assigned, in support of the administrative work of the Compliance Department.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AN EXPERIENCE
Basic mathematical aptitude and Excel spreadsheet skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and banking application software. Observe the highest degree of confidentiality in handling information received. Self-starter able to work without constant supervision. Able to provide positive guidance regarding regulatory requirements for other personnel. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with officers and staff. Good verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work within prescribed time frames. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Use of compliance related software programs such as NContracts, Verafin, and BAI Learning Management Familiarity with Regulatory Compliance, BSA/AML, and CRA regulations and requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree 3 years of banking experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
(not required) 1 year of compliance experience
