THIS IS AN IN-PERSON POSITION
Job Overview We are seeking a part-time Compliance Officer to oversee quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and clinical standards across our healthcare facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring all clinical operations remain compliant with federal, state, and organizational regulations while supporting high-quality patient care and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in inpatient behavioral health, hospital operations, compliance oversight, and policy implementation. This individual should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable leading meetings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and guiding staff through regulatory and quality initiatives. Responsibilities Monitor and evaluate clinical operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA standards. Conduct audits of medical documentation, patient records, and clinical practices to identify areas for improvement and ensure regulatory compliance. Lead quality assurance and compliance initiatives across inpatient behavioral health operations. Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that support patient safety, quality care, and operational compliance. Prepare for and participate in state surveys, accreditation reviews, and regulatory inspections. Investigate incidents related to compliance violations or patient safety concerns and implement corrective action plans as needed. Collaborate with clinical leadership and multidisciplinary teams to improve processes and maintain best practices in patient care. Provide education and training to staff regarding compliance standards, documentation requirements, infection control practices, and clinical protocols. Run meetings related to quality improvement, compliance updates, and operational standards. Support risk management efforts by reviewing clinical procedures and identifying opportunities for improvement. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in a timely manner. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Minimum of 5 years experience in similar roles Strong understanding of healthcare compliance regulations, accreditation standards, infection control practices, OSHA standards, and risk management principles. Experience with state surveys, audits, and regulatory preparedness. Proven experience implementing policies and procedures within a healthcare environment. Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail. Proficiency in typing, documentation, and general computer skills. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively across departments. Experience working with vulnerable populations, including patients with developmental disabilities or memory care needs, is preferred.
