Dallas, TX 75390 Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)

Job Description:
Reviewing research department applications/submissions for technical compliance (NOT the scientific content). Ensuring correct formatting and all required documentation (esp. NIH, which may involve foreign collaborations). Managing high volume of submissions, especially in May-June. Communicating with department admin/lab staff (not direct researchers), requesting corrections as needed, and facilitating back-and-forth to finalize submissions. Using internal grant system for tracking and updates. Preparing proposals for final routing to manager/director, who acts as "signing official.

316 proposals handled by a team of 8. Essential Functions 1. Has responsibilities performing tasks and is considered a subject matter expert for the pre-award services within Sponsored Programs Administration. 2. Manages and coordinates funding opportunity information to potential applicants at the university. 3. Provides guidance to researchers for proposal development and submission by interpreting and ensuring successful integration of sponsor, university guidelines and compliance considerations. 4. May provide backup assistance to Post-Award teams in setup and continued management of awards. 5. Provides award lifecycle support to researchers by interpreting award terms and conditions, obtaining approvals, and facilitating research staff in the preparation of award changes, no-cost extensions, progress reports, and non-financial obligations. 6. Independently reviews content and format of both basic and complex proposals through approval stage. 7. Monitors status of pending proposals and updates eGrants and Departmental staff where applicable to ensure timely submissions while adhering to internal preliminary deadlines. 8. This position is a heavily monitored, deadline-driven position which requires time-management skills and dedication to handle the needs and pivot the workload to ensure success of the faculty, department and the University securing research funding. 9. Fully understands the award lifecycle and provides support and collaboration with all areas within Sponsored Programs. 10. Aids in gathering information needed to answer pre-award inquiries. This may include additional research and review of new or complex regulatory requirements to develop reference materials or guidelines to ensure compliance with federal mandates or laws. 11. Completes forms in PeopleSoft or eGrants to assist both pre- and post-award functions. 12. Facilitates the faculty researchers and their teams to fulfill the mandatory sponsor programmatic and compliance reports. 13. Assists providing proposal, budget, transactional and closeout documentation for program reports or as needed for institutional audits. 14. May be included in rotation schedule for Office Hours for Campus research support. 15. Performs other duties as assigned. #

$40.00 - $45.00 per hour
