Job Description

Role The DOT Compliance Specialist is a regulatory compliance role within Tally's Health, Safety & Environment function, reporting to the Director of HSE. This role serves as Tally's dedicated subject matter expert on FMCSA regulations, driver qualification, Hours of Service (HOS), and fleet safety standards across Tally business operating commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). This role maintains a close working relationship with Tally's Fleet Manager and engages directly with (PL) leadership on compliance matters. Essential Functions

Compliance Administration Administer

compliance programs across all portfolio companies operating CMVs, including maintaining current knowledge of all applicable regulations. Maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files per 49 CFR Part 391; ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely renewal of all required documents Manage CDL verification, MVR review processes, and annual review cadence for all regulated drivers Administer the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse query process, ensure timely reporting Monitor ELD compliance across portfolio entities; serve as primary contact for ELD vendor relationships Review HOS logs for violations and coordinate corrective action with operations teams Monitor regulatory updates from FMCSA and other DOT agencies; communicate changes and operational impacts to the Director of HSE and PL leadership Audits & Compliance Oversight Conduct periodic DOT compliance audits and gap assessments at portfolio company locations; prepare written findings reports Maintain centralized compliance tracker and dashboard for all regulated entities across the portfolio Assist in preparation for DOT roadside inspections, compliance reviews, and CSA score management Support due diligence efforts for M&A transactions by assessing DOT compliance posture of acquisition targets Fleet & Cross-Functional Coordination Maintain a clearly defined working relationship with the company's Fleet Manager to align on compliance and operational responsibilities without duplication or gaps Jointly support vehicle inspection cadence, accident response documentation, and ELD vendor management; serve as the regulatory authority on compliance determinations Participate in regular standing meetings with the Fleet Manager and SVP of Operations/VP Product Line(s) to maintain shared visibility on driver status, inspection results, and open compliance items Reporting Prepare regular DOT compliance status reports for the Director of HSE and PL leadership as needed Serve as liaison between portfolio company operators and outside DOT counsel or third-party compliance vendors Conduct all business activities in accordance with company code of conduct, policies and procedures, and all applicable legal requirements. Perform other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. Qualifications & Requirements Required Minimum of 3 years of hands-on
DOT/FMCSA
compliance experience in transportation, oil and gas, oilfield services, or a related industrial environment Deep working knowledge of FMCSRs, CSA program, ELD mandates, and drug & alcohol testing regulations (49 CFR Parts 382, 391, 395) Experience managing compliance across multiple entities or locations simultaneously Proficiency with DOT compliance software Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable delivering findings to field operators and PL leadership alike Preferred Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation Management, Supply Chain, or a related field — or equivalent experience 6 years of hands-on

compliance experience in transportation, oil and gas, oilfield services, or a related industrial environment Professional certification: Director of Safety (DoS), Certified Director of Safety (CDS), or equivalent Prior experience in a private equity company or multi-entity holding company environment Experience supporting DOT audits, compliance reviews, or responding to enforcement actions Familiarity with OSHA regulations and broader EHS compliance a plus Work Environment & Physical Demands This position requires working in both office and field environments, which may not be temperature controlled .
