Job Description
The Firearms Compliance Admin will coordinate, review and assist implementation of the Company's firearm policies and practices in compliance with Federal, State and local laws/regulations. The Firearms Compliance Specialist will assist in policy implementation concerning firearm transactions, assist and test in the continual updating of compliance systems to ensure ATF Compliance, and provide recommendations for improvement with firearm compliance for all company policies and practices. The Firearms Compliance Specialist will coordinate firearm compliance, communicate with store teams concerning questions on firearm compliance and keep up with completing and documenting ATF traces in a timely manner. Responsible for recommending enhancements and working with IT through implementation to the Company's electronic firearms sales (ATF4473) program along with current acquisition and disposition program. This includes testing systems to ensure they comply with ATF regulations and rulings. Assists with training materials surrounding the regulatory requirements for the sale of firearms. Works with the Director and Administrator in keeping current all policies regarding the sale of firearms. Handle all ATF requests for firearm traces and reporting of missing/stolen firearms. Review the company's policies regarding the Distribution Centers fulfillment of firearms. Assist Store Teams by answering compliance communication concerning the legal transfer of firearms. Associates degree in Criminal Justice, Paralegal, Business, or equivalent degree or 3-5 years equivalent work experience is required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred. 3-5 years of experience in the firearm industry required. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, also must have strong internet research skills. Must have analytical, organizing and problem-solving skills. Experience in a multi-location and multi-state company is preferred. Experience with a firearm electronic acquisition and disposition system preferred. Knowledge of Federal and State firearm laws, ATF Form 4473, and straw purchases preferred.
