As a Compliance Officer, you will collaborate with operations leadership to research, design, and develop Policies & Procedures, and other Compliance related initiatives, that strengthen the operations compliance framework and protects the integrity of our Tribal Gaming operation. While performing the job duties outlined below, you will support the organization's success by demonstrating exceptional attention to detail, high degree of ethical standards, and commitment to upholding our mission, vision, and values. Your dedication will help maintain a culture of high ethical standards, integrity, accountability, and regulatory excellence throughout the casino. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (•Essential Functions) Partner with casino and/or hotel departments to research and develop appropriate, efficient internal controls, policies, and procedures. Draft written responses to internal and external audit reports. Identify, investigate, and resolve issues of non-compliance. Serve as a resource for leadership in addressing compliance and regulatory issues. Provide ongoing compliance reporting to compliance management. Perform risk assessments and carry out compliance monitoring programs to include but not limited to testing/auditing internal controls, policies, and procedures. Perform compliance checks and summarize findings in a clear and concise written report. Develop and coordinate compliance training materials and programs. Maintain accurate, detailed records of Internal Control activity. Maintain a working knowledge of relevant industry issues and regulations that might affect the organization's policies and procedures, Internal Controls, or Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards. Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, law, criminal justice, finance or other related field, or high school diploma/equivalent and 5 years of work experience in audit, regulatory compliance, risk management, or related field. Prior experience that includes responsibility for the design, implementation, or testing of policies and procedures or risk assessment functions, is preferred. A broad understanding of the gaming industry, with an emphasis on Tribal Gaming is preferred. A comprehensive understanding of gaming regulations and applicable laws is preferred. The ability to independently research, locate, verify, and accurately cite the legal or regulatory source and citation, is required. Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced proficiency in MS Word, including formatting and document automation tools. The ability to read and interpret written instructions and diagrams. The ability to prepare detailed, concise, and accurate reports, compliance documentation, and regulatory submission The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information. The ability to interact with guests and team members at all levels of the organization professionally, including the ability to speak in front of small groups. The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays. While performing the duties of this job, the team member must be able to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the office and property for duration of shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member may be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions The noise level is usually moderate. When on the casino floor the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free.
