Job Description

Position Summary:
Our client is a stable, well-established organization in San Diego with a long history of success and steady growth. They are seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to support credit evaluation, account management, and the overall credit function within a collaborative, on-site accounting team. This role supports larger customer accounts and works closely with the Controller and existing credit staff. The ideal candidate is an experienced, dependable credit professional who brings sound judgment and consistency to credit decisions.

Responsibilities:
Review the existing customer portfolio to identify shifts in creditworthiness and adjust credit limits as needed, including reviewing D&B credit history and other third-party credit data. Evaluate and recommend credit terms for newly established customer accounts. Organize, update, and monitor credit and loan documentation within the GP system. Maintain current account information by reviewing balances, credit limits, aging reports, payment history, and accounts receivable activity. Partner with collections to support timely resolution of outstanding balances and assist with collection efforts as needed. Investigate and resolve customer credit or billing issues, escalating matters when necessary. Communicate with internal teams and external customers to follow up on outstanding items. Authorize shipments and releases from credit hold, and clearly communicate reasons for holds to sales teams and customers. Process accounts receivable transactions. Issue credit memos when appropriate. Complete vendor-related documentation and compliance forms. Assist the Accounting Department with additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience in credit and receivables. Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Proven experience evaluating credit terms for mid-to-large customer accounts. Experience working in a structured, team-based accounting environment, supporting multiple stakeholders. Comfortable operating in a stable, established company with a blend of corporate processes and family-style culture. Demonstrated trustworthiness, dependability, and strong judgment in credit decision-making. Proficiency with Microsoft Great Plains is a plus. Strong customer service skills and exceptional attention to detail.
