Job Description:
This is a banking position This role is responsible for overseeing commercial credit administration, loan portfolio management, credit policy development, and underwriting oversight across a diverse portfolio of C&I, Commercial Real Estate, and specialty lending relationships. The SVP partners closely with executive leadership, commercial lenders, and credit teams to ensure sound credit decisions, strong portfolio performance, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management. The ideal candidate will possess extensive commercial banking experience, strong leadership capabilities, deep expertise in complex credit structures, and significant knowledge of the South Florida commercial banking market. Job Requirements Serve as a senior credit authority for complex commercial lending relationships, including C&I, CRE, owner-occupied real estate, and specialty finance transactions. Review, approve, and provide recommendations on complex credit requests, renewals, modifications, and portfolio actions. Oversee the full commercial loan administration lifecycle, including underwriting, portfolio monitoring, covenant compliance, annual reviews, renewals, and problem loan management. Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts and underwriters, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to credit standards. Develop, implement, and refine credit policies, underwriting standards, and risk management procedures. Conduct advanced financial analysis of corporate financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, global cash flow analyses, and multi-entity borrowing structures. Partner with commercial lenders to structure credit facilities that appropriately balance client needs and risk management objectives. Present credit recommendations and portfolio updates to Senior Loan Committee, Executive Management, and Board-level committees. Monitor portfolio quality, criticized assets, risk ratings, concentration risks, and emerging market trends. Maintain strong knowledge of South Florida market dynamics, including real estate, healthcare, hospitality, professional services, and international business sectors. Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Finance, and Operations on complex transactions and enterprise initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and BSA/AML standards. Prepare and present executive-level portfolio reporting, credit analytics, and risk assessments. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. Minimum 15 years of progressive commercial credit experience within the banking industry. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing credit analysts, underwriters, or commercial credit teams. Extensive experience with complex C&I, CRE, and structured commercial lending transactions. Strong credit approval authority experience within a commercial banking environment. Deep understanding of commercial underwriting, portfolio management, loan administration, and risk management. Strong knowledge of federal and state banking regulations, loan documentation, and credit policy. Demonstrated experience presenting credit recommendations to executive leadership, loan committees, and board-level stakeholders. Strong knowledge of the South Florida commercial banking market. Excellent leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills. Formal bank credit training strongly preferred. MBA, Master's degree, or other advanced financial education preferred.
