Job Description:
This is a banking position This role will oversee credit underwriting, approval processes, portfolio management, and annual review activities while providing leadership to a team of credit analysts and underwriters. The ideal candidate will possess a strong Commercial & Industrial (C&I) credit background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to manage a high-volume commercial loan portfolio. This individual will serve as a key partner to lending teams, ensuring sound credit decisions, policy adherence, and efficient execution of the bank's credit administration process. Job Requirements Oversee the underwriting, analysis, and approval process for commercial lending relationships Review and approve credit packages, financial analyses, annual reviews, and credit memorandums prepared by analysts and lenders Exercise lending and credit approval authority within assigned limits and escalate larger transactions as required Manage annual credit reviews and borrower-level risk assessments across the commercial portfolio Review financial statements, tax returns, cash flow analyses, debt structures, and borrower performance metrics Ensure timely completion of annual reviews, covenant monitoring, and financial tickler requirements Oversee debt consolidation analyses and complex credit reviews for larger commercial relationships Maintain quality control standards for credit presentations, call reports, and loan approval packages Serve as the primary liaison between lending and credit teams to facilitate efficient credit decision-making Manage workflow across a portfolio of approximately 150-200 commercial loan relationships Monitor compliance with internal credit policies, lending authority guidelines, and regulatory requirements Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of credit analysts and underwriters Assist with process improvements and ongoing enhancement of credit administration practices Support senior management with portfolio reporting, credit quality reviews, and special projects Job Qualifications Minimum 7 years of commercial credit analysis, underwriting, or credit administration experience required Previous Credit Manager, Senior Credit Officer, or similar credit leadership experience preferred Strong Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending experience required Experience reviewing and approving commercial loan structures, financial analyses, and credit memorandums Proven experience managing annual reviews, portfolio monitoring, and borrower risk assessments Prior experience supervising credit analysts, underwriters, or credit administration staff required Strong knowledge of commercial lending policies, credit risk management, and regulatory requirements Experience managing complex commercial lending relationships and large loan portfolios Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
