Job Description
Are you analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to build a career in credit and banking? The National Bank of Indianapolis is seeking a Credit Underwriting Associate to support our Credit Department. In this role, you'll play a key part in evaluating borrower financials, supporting underwriting decisions, and ensuring accuracy across credit processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to deepen their financial analysis skills in a collaborative, high-performance environment. What You'll Do Support credit underwriting functions, including financial spreading, covenant testing, and borrower analysis Partner with Treasury Management and lending teams to prepare ACH requests and renewals Prepare and process deposit hold requests and related documentation Maintain and update credit reports and tracking tools on a regular basis Convert borrower financial statements into standardized formats using financial spreading software Perform quality control reviews of documentation and imaged files Process background check requests for borrowers as needed Assist with loan committee materials and reporting Analyze borrower financial condition and cash flow, including ratio and trend analysis, as directed Ensure adherence to loan policies and identify/report exceptions where appropriate Maintain knowledge of underwriting standards and regulatory guidelines What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business; coursework in financial accounting preferred Banking or financial services experience preferred but not required Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to draw sound conclusions High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently Strong organizational skills and initiative Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Ability to collaborate effectively with lending teams and cross-functional partners
