Are you a highly organized and compassionate property management professional driven to create safe and stable homes for vulnerable individuals? Do you excel at building positive relationships and collaborating with community partners? If so, we invite you to join our teams as a Property Manager for a vital supportive housing community in Toledo. As the Property Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the property while fostering a welcoming and trauma-informed environment for our residents. Your dedication and collaborative spirit will directly contribute to the stability and well-being of individuals building their lives.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of property management for the permanent supportive housing community, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment. Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with residents, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their unique experiences. Ensure timely and accurate collection of rent, managing any delinquencies with sensitivity and in accordance with established policies. Coordinate and supervise all maintenance and repair activities, working with internal staff and external vendors as needed. Conduct regular property inspections to identify and address any maintenance, safety, or security concerns. Manage the leasing process, including application review, lease signing, and move-in/move-out procedures, adhering to fair housing laws and company policies. Maintain accurate and confidential resident records and property files. Collaborate closely and proactively with on-site case managers, social workers, and other support staff to address resident needs and facilitate access to community resources. Enforce community living agreements with fairness and consistency, promoting a respectful and supportive environment. Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to a collaborative problem-solving approach regarding resident well-being and community functioning. Prepare regular reports on property occupancy, financial performance, and maintenance activities. Manage the property budget effectively, ensuring responsible use of resources. Respond to after-hours emergencies in accordance with established protocols. Stay informed about best practices in trauma-informed care and supportive housing.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in property management, ideally within affordable housing, supportive housing, or with vulnerable populations. Strong understanding of fair housing regulations. Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries with residents who have experienced trauma and significant life challenges. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with a focus on empathy and de-escalation techniques. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in property management software (e.g., One-Site Real Page, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite. High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, human services, business administration) preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. A strong commitment to the mission of providing safe and supportive housing for survivors of human trafficking and individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.
