Position Summary:
The Credit Analyst supports the bank's commercial lending efforts by providing detailed financial analysis and credit underwriting for commercial loan requests. This role works closely with Relationship Managers to assess credit risk and ensure loan structuring in line with the bank's credit policy.
Essential Duties:
Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow statements, and business plans for new and existing commercial clients. Prepare thorough credit memorandums with risk ratings, loan structuring recommendations, and collateral evaluations. Compare liquidity, profitability, and efficiency ratios of establishments being evaluated with those of similar establishments in the same industries and geographic locations. Keep abreast of industry, economic, and market trends that may impact client creditworthiness. Assist in tracking lender/loan exceptions and tracks trends for these exceptions to include tracking collateral. Conduct annual reviews for large relationships for quality of continued credit. Maintain a solid understanding of credit policy and regulatory compliance requirements. Participate in client meetings with lending officers, as needed, to better understand borrower needs and risks.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, preferred. 2 years of experience in commercial credit analysis or commercial banking required. 5+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis or commercial banking preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong financial and credit analysis skills with attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial spreading software. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and lending best practices. Team player with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities meeting deadlines. Ability to work with and maintain confidential information. Ability to travel to other bank branch locations or customers' place of business.
Physical and Mental Demands:
The employee regularly sits and uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
Position Type/Hours:
This is a full-time position generally working Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. with additional hours as needed to accomplish job responsibilities.
