Portfolio Manager Team Lead -
Commercial Banking Location:
Holland, MI (Relocation Welcome)
Compensation:
$117K-$165K base + bonus
Schedule:
Full-time | Onsite Hybrid A well-capitalized Midwest-based financial institution is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager Team Lead to support commercial lending growth in West Michigan. This leadership position oversees a team of Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts, while supporting a diverse commercial loan portfolio across C&I and CRE relationships. This search is confidential and managed by gpac on behalf of the client.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts Manage a $500MM+ commercial loan portfolio Review and approve complex credit requests and ensure risk standards are met Partner with Relationship Managers to support lending goals and portfolio quality Oversee underwriting accuracy, credit file compliance, and annual reviews Present during Loan Committee meetings and senior credit discussions
Qualifications:
10+ years of commercial credit or portfolio management experience Formal bank credit training required Experience managing or mentoring credit staff Proficient in credit structuring, financial analysis, and risk rating Strong communicator with committee presentation experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred) Willing to relocate to West Michigan (candidate-funded)
