Job Description

Description:
SUMMARY Posts payments received to customer accounts and performs various cash posting and customer ledger functions. Contacts assigned customers to collect past due invoices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Posts checks, EFT and wires received from customer to accounts in the company's ERP system, flagging accounts where additional information is required. Applies adjustments such as write-offs for sales tax and minor write-offs along with account corrections as appropriate. Prepares accounts receivable receipts for deposit in company accounts utilizing special banking software and check scanner. Files batches of cash posting. Initiates form letters to customers resolving account problems as needed. More senior or experienced incumbents may be expected to assist other cash posters who are having difficulties posting cash, solving problems. Maybe assigned various special projects including system testing. Works in tandem with sales representatives for assigned accounts, keeping them informed of customer account status and working in partnership with them to get accounts resolved. Compiles accurate account notes in the Activity Log. Utilizes invoicing portals for assigned accounts, including research and re-submission of invoices and other supporting materials. Provides weekly updates to VP of Accounting on status of assigned accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or at least one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
KEY DIMENSIONS

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to use personal computer and 10-key calculator.
