Skills & Competencies 7+ years of experience in credit risk modeling, including PD, LGD, EL, scorecards, hazard models, regression‑based models, and early warning signals Ability to explain, interpret, and defend model behavior for both executive and technical audiences Experience working with financial data inputs, model assumptions, and validation concepts Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to structure complex technical concepts into clear, business‑relevant messages Strong work ethic, curiosity, and ability to operate independently under limited supervision Ability to operate effectively in a deadline‑driven, collaborative environment Willingness to travel up to 40% Familiarity with EDF X, RiskCalc, CreditEdge, Portfolio Analyzer, or internal model frameworks (preferred) Experience supporting origination, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, or early warning workflows in commercial, consumer, or middle‑market lending environments (preferred) Prior experience in model validation, model governance, or analytics support within a bank, regulator, consulting firm, or risk solutions provider (preferred) Experience delivering quantitative presentations, client workshops, or training sessions (preferred) Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders by presenting technical ideas, proposed workflows, or modeling‑driven recommendations (preferred) Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, Data Science, Risk Management, or related quantitative fields Responsibilities As a subject matter expert across Moody's risk modeling ecosystem, the specialist focuses on the EDF X platform, public and private firm models, retail/consumer credit models, and key analytic frameworks such as Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), Expected Loss (EL), and Early Warning Systems (EWS). This highly quantitative, client‑facing role requires foundational knowledge of dual risk rating concepts and expected‑loss‑based credit processes used in CECL and broader risk assessment. The specialist leads deep‑dive demonstrations, executive‑level presentations, model discussions, and comprehensive proofs of concept (POCs) for institutions evaluating Moody's risk solutions, supporting the Relationship Manager and Workflow Specialist. Client Engagement & Technical Leadership Deliver expert demonstrations across Moody's commercial & consumer credit analytics suite, including EDF X, RiskCalc, CreditEdge, and retail models Lead customer meetings to clarify business objectives, modeling needs, data requirements, and workflow impacts Drive the technical evaluation process, ensuring client understanding of model logic, methodology, and credit decisioning value Develop and refine collateral supporting sales strategy and client comprehension Conduct in‑depth POCs including model performance comparisons, dataset validation, and demonstrations of PD, LGD, and EL outputs Present executive narratives and detailed technical deep dives on model methodology, validation practices, risk signals, and early warning analytics

Translate complex credit risk methodologies into clear, practical explanations for business and technical audiences Compare Moody's models with competitor or internal bank models, articulating strengths, assumptions, and implications Advise clients on integrating

outputs into underwriting, risk rating, early warning, CECL/IFRS9, monitoring, and portfolio analytics Training, Enablement & Thought Leadership Deliver training for internal teams and clients on EDF X, risk modeling, scorecards, and EWS frameworks Provide market‑informed insight to internal stakeholders, contributing to product strategy and model enhancements Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory expectations and innovations in quantitative credit risk Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product Management, Research, Advisory, and Customer Success to align feature development with client needs Coordinate with sales to support proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and evaluation frameworks highlighting Moody's quantitative differentiation About the Team Our team works at the intersection of advanced quantitative modeling, client engagement, and strategic product enablement. We support institutions evaluating Moody's commercial and consumer credit analytics by providing deep technical expertise across PD, LGD, EL, early warning models, and the EDF X platform. Through strong collaboration with Sales, Product, Research, and Customer Success teams, we help clients understand, adopt, and maximize the value of Moody's risk solutions within their credit decisioning, underwriting, regulatory, and portfolio management processes.

the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $113,200.00 - $164,050.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
