Job Description

The Dual Enrollment Specialist will develop relationships with school counselors and high school students. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing all Dual Enrollment forms- including applications, registrations, release of information, and hardship waivers. This position will work with MSU-Northern faculty and surrounding high school faculty in creating class offerings, as well as campus staff to ensure that Dual Enrollment are receiving appropriate support from the university. The Dual Enrollment Specialist will be expected to work flexible hours on certain occasions, and to serve on committees in the university community. This position will also require some travel. This position will also serve as a backup processor in times of needs; an example would be Free Application Week and Related Training Applications and will assist in covering walk in traffic and phone calls to the Registrar's Office when the Program Coordinator is out of the office. As well as assist the Registrar in completing yearly Academic Maps and other yearly updates to forms. Responsibilities include outreach, documenting, follow procedures, and promptly responding to customers. This position will enforce policies as needed. Duties and decisions are accomplished with minimal supervision. Duties and Responsibilities Perform all duties in a timely manner while maintaining quality customer service to students, faculty, staff and education partners at the secondary schools. Facilitate the development of one-to-one relationships between MSUN faculty and secondary partners for dual enrollment access to the curriculum Serve a liaison between dual enrollment students and support services (e.g. OTLE, Accessibility Services) to proactively ensure student success. Actively develop relationships with secondary partners and assist dual enrollment students and secondary schools with regards to admission, registration, and fee payments. Coordinate the creation and administration of concurrent dual credit offerings. Provide an MOU to each partner school each academic year. Request stipends for secondary teachers who meet concurrent enrollment requirements. Keep dual enrollment students and high school counselors up to date on deadlines, offerings, early alerts, and general assistance in all areas. Collaborate with the Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management to ensure that dual enrollment related Perkins objectives are met. The Dual Credit Specialist is expected to spend 75% of their work time focused on Dual Credit responsibilities. The remaining 25% will be spent working on university responsibilities. Answer general questions about MSU-Northern, academic policies and regulations. Provide back up processing of university student applications at peak times, such as Free College Application Week or Related Training applications. Become familiar with the process for an applicant to become an admitted student to MSU-Northern. Provide back up for the Registrar's Office when the Program Coordinator is out of the office; which will include, but not limited to, answering the main line, helping walk in traffic, printing transcripts, etc. Assist the Registrar in updating of Academic Maps and other forms that need yearly review. Assist with preparation and help with the Commencement Ceremony. Assist the Registrar as needed. Maintain a high level of confidentiality. All other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products; specifically Word, Excel and Outlook Experience with multi-line phone, fax machine, photocopier, computer scanner, shredder, calculator and printer Associate's Degree or 2-5 years of experience in an office setting Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Banner Student module knowledge Knowledge of University academic polices The Successful Candidate Will Perform all duties in a timely manner while maintaining quality customer service to students, faculty, staff and education partners at the secondary schools Special Requirements Physical Demands Being able to sit and type for long periods of time This position has supervisory duties?
