Job Description

Position Overview MHANY seeks a qualified Affordable Housing Tax Credit Certification Specialist for a full-time role within the MHANY Compliance Department. The Affordable Housing Tax Credit Certification Specialist will interact with MHANY residents and will be responsible for reviewing applicant files, collecting annual information required, and calculating submitted documents to ensure compliance with initial and annual certification requirements. The position requires prior experience using YARDI to certify residents and familiarity with both low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) and HUD annual compliance requirements. Responsibilities  Schedule interviews or appointments for certification with residents  Collect all required documents from each resident in order to prepare all necessary paperwork for initial certification (upon vacancy) or for annual re-certification for current resident  Review files for accuracy and completion  Prepare all necessary paperwork HUD and LIHTC for residents to sign including calculating income and asset information from submitted documents  All paperwork will be prepared through YARDI  Maintain applicant confidentiality in the handling of private communications and documents; file applicant documentation in an orderly fashion, ready for HUD or LIHTC audit  Respond to all calls from residents regarding recertification  Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors Skills and Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Experience working with document collection and review to correctly and timely completely HUD and LIHTC certification/re-certification materials  Experience with inputting and generating LIHTC and HUD forms through YARDI  Experience and commitment to working with low and moderate-income people 2  Experience with all annual income certifications requirements and processes for
LIHTC, HUD
Section 8 and HOME  Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, excellent communicator and willing and able to follow up and complete each aspect of the job  Positive attitude toward hands-on work, field work, paperwork and must have the ability to communicate well and work with residents and other members of the MHANY team  Ability to follow up on each aspect of the work. Meticulous attention to detail is necessary  Excellent writing and verbal communication skills including interacting with various stakeholders such as government agencies, housing applicants, etc
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
