Primary Purpose:
The Dual Credit and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Specialist supports the coordination and expansion of dual credit and CCMR initiatives across assigned secondary campuses. This position works closely with students and families to provide guidance, access, and support for dual credit enrollment, persistence, and completion, with a focus on increasing the number of students graduating with college credit and associate degrees. The Specialist ensures all students are connected to timely information and resources that support successful graduation and postsecondary readiness, contributing to improved graduation rates and overall high school accountability outcomes. The role assists with advising, testing coordination, enrollment processes, and campus-level systems while collaborating with postsecondary partners and facilitating enrollment events. In alignment with Texas CCMR indicators, this position supports student attainment of readiness benchmarks such as dual credit completion, associate degrees, meeting college readiness standards (TSIA2, SAT, ACT), advanced coursework, industry-based certifications, and military readiness pathways, all of which are key measures of student preparedness and accountability performance.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a closely related field from an accredited college or university Valid driver's license with the ability to travel within the district
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Basic knowledge of Texas CCMR indicators, dual credit programs, and college enrollment processes Familiarity with TSIA2 testing and college readiness expectations Basic skills in maintaining spreadsheets and tracking data Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and related platforms Basic organizational and time management skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, staff, and families Ability to present information clearly in both written and oral formats Basic ability to review and interpret data to support program needs Ability to assist with campus implementation of programs and initiatives Working knowledge of standard technology systems used by the district Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Ability to work with attention to detail and follow directions with general supervision Ability to maintain professional conduct and work collaboratively with others
Experience:
Experience in secondary education preferred Experience supporting college readiness, advising, or related programs preferred Experience with dual credit or advanced academic programs preferred Familiarity with college admissions processes and testing (TSIA2, SAT/ACT) preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Dual Credit Program Support 1. Assist in coordinating dual credit programs across assigned campuses. 2. Support communication between the district and college partners. 3. Help facilitate student enrollment processes, including applications and registration. 4. Meet with students regularly on their preparation and progress for successful course completion. College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Support 5. Assist campuses in monitoring CCMR indicators and student progress. 6. Support campus efforts to expand access to advanced academic opportunities. 7. Maintain awareness of CCMR requirements and assist with compliance efforts. College Testing and Advising Support 8. Assist with coordination of TSIA2 testing across campuses. 9. Support scheduling and administration of college readiness assessments. 10. Provide support to campuses in advising students on coursework and postsecondary options. Event Planning and Implementation 11. Assist in planning and supporting events related to dual credit and CCMR (e.g., parent nights, registration events). 12. Help communicate event details to students, families, and staff. Data Management and Reporting 13. Maintain student records related to dual credit and CCMR participation. 14. Assist with data tracking and reporting for program monitoring. 15. Provide updates to campus and district leadership as requested. Professional Development and Support 16. Assist in providing training and support to campus staff on dual credit and CCMR processes. 17. Support campus personnel in implementing college and career readiness initiatives. Policy, Reports, and Compliance 18. Follow federal, state, and district policies and procedures. 19. Assist with required reporting and documentation. 20. Maintain accurate records and files. 21. Demonstrate professional and ethical conduct. Communication 22. Maintain positive working relationships with campus staff, students, families, and partners. 23. Provide clear and timely communication regarding program processes. 24. Represent the district in a professional manner. Other Duties 25. Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information. 26. Participate in professional development as assigned. 27. Maintain a working knowledge of district-supported systems and tools. 28. Support the district's mission and goals. 29.
