Job Description

Bank of England / Bank of England Mortgage Mortgage Servicing Investor Accounting Specialist Job Description Typical business work hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, some over-time may be required. As the Mortgage Servicing Investor Accounting Specialist, you will be expected to demonstrate a sense of urgency, willingness to work closely with others, and be part of a team whose primary focus is service to our customers as you will be their main point of contact. This is a non-exempt position.
Purpose:
The Mortgage Servicing Investor Accounting Specialist ensures timely and accurate investor reporting to investors and performs oversight for subservice portfolio serviced by a third party. This function is highly regulated and complex with a focus on mitigating financial exposure to monetary and/or relationship penalties if deadlines are missed or reports and cash disbursements are inaccurate.
Essential Functions/Duties:
1) Review, research and understand servicing agreements and regulatory guides. 2) Facilitate the accurate and timely submission of reports for investors and Bank of England. 3) Strict adherence to the Agency and Servicing Agreements for timely and accurate reporting, remitting, and reconciling. 4) Posting payments and payoffs. 5) Review processes and procedures and recommend new ones to management and other departments within the company to improve productivity and quality. 6) Assists with customer service calls and other customer direct contact communication. 7) Perform audit, analysis and comparison of remittance reports, if applicable, to ensure the proper and accurate identification and clearing of all variances. 8) Perform monthly reconciliation of GL and custodial bank account activity to loan servicing details or remittance activity. 9) Respond to investor inquiries and perform research. 10) Assist in internal and external audit responses. 11) Assist in the setup of the servicing system to ensure all investor loans report accurately and maintain loan level accuracy on the servicing system. 12) Assist in the performance of servicing oversight of servicer reports; request revisions as required; monitor compliance of other aspect of the Sub-Servicing Agreement and maintain the servicer reporting system. 13) Monitor regulatory and investor/insurer guideline changes. 14) Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time. 15) Other duties and tasks as assigned by management. 16) Honesty and integrity in dealing with others and accountability in standing behind your work; initiative and self-motivation in serving the client, getting the job completed thoroughly and on time; ability to listen to others and understand their needs; confidence in yourself and enthusiasm regarding your service.
Education & Experience Requirements:
1) High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 2) Some college preferred; Bachelor s Degree in banking/finance or accounting desired. 3) Minimum of 5 years work experience in mortgage loan servicing; 3 years work experience in an Investor Reporting capacity with extensive knowledge of mortgage servicing. 4) Must have working knowledge and experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, HUD, Ginnie Mae, MERS, investor servicing guidelines and government requirements. 5) Must have working knowledge of all Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Federal and State regulatory compliance requirements that apply required. Including by not limited to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
General Requirements:
1) Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative in pursuing departmental responsibilities. 2) Ability to perform complex research work. 3) Excellent customer service skills required and ability to demonstrate control and flexibility when dealing with internal/external clients and changing work demand. 4) Demonstrate effective and strong listening skills, verbal/speaking communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in writing to principals, executive management, non-management personnel, vendors and customers. 5) Must be organized, with acute attention to detail with great accuracy. 6) Prioritization skills - ability to recognize and act on changing priorities 7) Must have ability to multi-task and operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. 8) Ability to maintain quality and high productivity when dealing with customers and changing work demand. 9) Proficient skills with MS Office, Excel and Mortgage Industry Loan Servicing Software (D+H Servicing Director experience preferred). 10) Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. 11) Multiple language skills are a plus.
