POSITION PURPOSE
Provide information on credit union products and services to members in accordance with credit union policies and procedures and State and Federal rules and regulations. Responsible for interviewing, evaluating, underwriting, and processing applications. Gather background information and analyze loan applicant's credit history. Approve or deny loan applications based on analysis within credit union guidelines. Operate with substantial credit granting authority.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITIES 1.
Counsel with members to determine member's needs. 2. Have a thorough knowledge of credit union products and services. 3. Handle loans of high complexity, value, or risk. 4. Assist members with the loan application process to ensure completeness of information. 5. Obtain relevant information and evaluate applicants' financial status, including credit history, debt-to-income ratio, and appraisal reports, to determine recommendation or decisioning for the loan request. 6. Determine collateral needs and payment plans for members applying for loans. 7. Maintain thorough knowledge of credit union loan policy and be capable of discussing various loan alternatives with the member. 8. Maintain a thorough knowledge of interest rates and be able to discuss this with members. 9. Maintain current knowledge of all applicable lending regulations, the economy, market rates, vendors, and competitors. 10. Analyze credit bureaus. 11. Complete loan documents and disburse loans when approved. 12. Maintain member loan files (loan folders and supporting loan documents). 13. Cross-sell other credit union products and services when appropriate. 14. Verify the accuracy of loan amounts and repayment terms on approved loan applications. 15. When a loan is denied, explain reasons for denial in a professional, courteous manner. Work with member to provide recommendations or alternative options for other possible ways to secure a loan in the future. 16. Represent the credit union at community events or professional functions when necessary. 17. Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
Attention to detail, highly organized, and ability to multi-task and manage time well. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to adapt quickly to a changing work environment. Above average computer skills required including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience working with Fiserv XP2 or other Fiserv Data Processing systems is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
Experience:
2+ years in lending, banking, or related experience is preferred. Credit Union or Banking Experience is a plus.
Physical Demands:
Typical office environment that includes walking, sitting in front of a computer, etc.
