Role:
Assist members and potential members with phone requests; explain services, respond to problems, and direct phone calls to the appropriate area. Assist members with consumer loan needs; take, input and process loan requests and make loan disbursements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Assist members and potential members with phone requests; answer questions about products and services and resolve problems that are within their authority to resolve; refer problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor along with their recommendations. Process member loan applications, explain loan programs to members and recommend best loan options. Review all loan documents for accuracy and completeness and notify member of loan decision. Follow up with the loan officer on any pending loans and/or outstanding loan conditions. Disburse loans in a timely manner when needed. Identify cross-sell opportunities and offer products and services to members. Follow up with member after loan disbursement either by mail or phone inclusive of member enhancement calls when needed. Responsible for compliance with Credit Union policies including the Bank Secrecy Act and Customer Identification Program. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1. Adhere to the Credit Union Service Standards in all interactions both internal and external as well as employing CML (Creating Member Loyalty) skills. 2. Provide accurate, courteous, friendly, timely, and professional phone service to all members and potential members. Answer phone immediately and respond to correspondence within established time frame. 3. Accurately handle inbound/outbound calls daily and effectively troubleshoot or direct the call to appropriate department. 4. Produce, close, organize and image member loan files in a timely fashion with minimal errors. 5. Offer assigned volume of ancillary loan products to all qualified/eligible members 100% of the time. 6. Qualify for, obtain and maintain annual registration in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS). 7. Qualify and obtain a Credit Life and Disability License. 8. Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness. 9. Display flexibility with work hours to help support business needs.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Education A high school education or GED. Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Other Skills Good listening and phone skills; able to operate a 10-key calculator, computer keyboard and Microsoft Products. Physical Requirements This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. As required or requested, may exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects..
