Position Overview:
The Senior Loan Operations Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Credit Union's loan operations by overseeing the end-to-end maintenance, documentation, and processing of consumer loans. This position ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations, provides mentorship to junior staff, and works closely with all Credit Union business units to optimize operational efficiency and member service.
What You Will Do:
Executes Lien perfection processes on retail loans Complete CPI-related claims/refunds/exceptions on all loans and products Processes payment reversals and receivable corrections on all loan products Process total loss claims, Skip a Pay on eligible retail products, and EFT payments Complete Servicemember Civil Relief Act (SCRA) requests, maintenance, and compliance Complete core banking system maintenance for consumer loan pool sales Tracks and monitors total loss processes by providing required documentation to insurance companies and filing GAP claims Monitor and maintain electronic titling system to ensure accurate information and electronic title enrollment are kept up to date Able to complete bankruptcy support, reports, and DNA maintenance Collaborate with other business units to solve complex servicing requests Create and provide title tracking reports to auto loan program partners Manage third-party eVault system to ensure accurate information is stored Respond to internal audits and compliance reviews by gathering documentation and implementing corrective actions Assist in system upgrades, UAT testing, and implementation of upgraded platforms or process enhancements Provide exceptional service to internal stakeholders and members by addressing escalated inquiries and issues related to all loan operations tasks Be the department senior point of contact for operations tasks such as collateral tracking, lien perfection, and loan file maintenance Resolve assigned tickets meeting Service Level Agreements Train, mentor and provide guidance to junior operations staff Be department SME of consumer ancillary products and services
Requirements:
Our Ideal Candidate High School Diploma or General Education Degree required 3-5 years of loan servicing experience required Working knowledge of core banking systems, phone and ticketing systems, and loan servicing systems to complete tasks Working knowledge of loan servicing compliance requirements Working knowledge of all CPI-related claims and maintenance on all loans and products Working knowledge of loan modification processes and maintenance for all loan products Working knowledge of payment reversals and receivable corrections on all loan products Working knowledge of credit report disputes, processes, and maintenance Working knowledge of bankruptcy support, reports, and DNA maintenance Working knowledge of lien perfection processes and procedures on retail loans Reports to

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The daily responsibilities of this position constantly require effective talking, hearing, walking, finger dexterity, reaching, stooping, and grasping functions. The position also often requires reaching and lifting (up to 25 pounds). Frequent sitting, standing, and repetitive motion activities are also required. Must be able to read print and computer-based materials and to do so with consistent accuracy. Most of these functions require light physical exertion and are conducted indoors at controlled degrees of temperature.
