The Loan Operations Representative I performs various administrative tasks involved in servicing Loans. Performs routine administrative tasks exercising some judgment and discretion in the performance of duties usually in support of a single unit or team within Loan Operations. Tasks are varied and are usually performed independently within standard policies and procedures. May review work of others to ensure accurate processing. May perform preliminary research on suspicious items and reports findings to appropriate resource to help prevent fraudulent activities. May make entries in general ledger related to paperwork and information processed. May approve and review general ledger entries and/or invoices for accuracy and completeness. May provide input and assistance to management in developing and maintaining budget as requested. May identify, audit, and investigate departmental discrepancies. Responds to basic and moderately complex inquiries and issues from Customers and internal units. Researches information to provide responses and resolution. May contact Customers to explain items affecting their accounts. Follows up with branches and other units to resolve discrepancies and Customer issues.Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Performs highly complex or non-routine administrative tasks exercising significant judgment and discretion in the performance of duties usually in support of a single unit or team within Loan Operations. Tasks are performed independently with limited supervision and review. Tasks may include research, processing incoming mail, Customer service and contact, and external agency contact. Provides information and procedural knowledge for less experienced staff. Performs research on suspicious items and reports findings to appropriate resources to help prevent fraudulent activities. Makes entries in general ledger related to paperwork and information processed. Approves and reviews general ledger entries and/or invoices for accuracy and completeness. Provides input and assistance to management in developing and maintaining budget. Identifies, audits, investigates, and rectifies departmental discrepancies. Reviews work and provide information and procedural knowledge to less experienced staff. Responds to the most complex inquiries and issues from Customers and internal units. Research information to provide responses and resolution. May contact Customers to explain items affecting their accounts. Follows up with attorneys and other units to resolve discrepancies and Customer issues. Creates and mails modifications. Communicate via email with customers, attorneys, and internal bank partners to provide updates, resolve issues, and support timely loan processing.Must Have Hard Skills:
2 years of experience in the banking/financial industry. Proven computer literacy and proficiency in common PC applications. Proven knowledge of Loan Operations policies and procedures as well as related agency regulations.Skills:
Basic knowledge in lending and the real estate industry. Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Knowledge of basic accounting processes and procedures. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. Proven attention to detail and the ability to prioritize workload to meet unit objectives. Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal skills. Must possess strong analytical and administrative abilities. Proven ability to provide guidance to others, clarifying complex policies and procedures and facilitating knowledge-sharing in the work group is required.Education/Experience:
