Job Description

General Summary (What is done and why) The Loan Servicing Specialist I is responsible for the servicing of all consumer and mortgage loans within the Credit Union. This role involves executing all related tasks in strict compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate and efficient loan servicing. The Loan Servicing Specialist I must possess expert knowledge of loan servicing processes, continuously seeking opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies. Essential Functions, in Priority Order (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary) 1. Responsible for the effective and timely performance of all functions related to escrow administration, lien placement, insurance management, claim processing, borrower protection benefit administration, credit reporting disputes, and collateral release. Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.

60% 2. Evaluate department processes and procedures and recommend improvements to support the Credit Union's strategic objectives.

25% 3. Maintain a thorough understanding of loan products and servicing procedures. Assist with audits and compliance reviews as needed. Provide backup to all functional areas of Loan Servicing. Special projects or duties as assigned.

15% Education (Minimum education required to perform the duties of this position) High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience (Minimum experience required to perform the duties of this position) In addition to the education requirement: Minimum of 1 years' experience in related field Minimum of 1 years' experience with loan servicing is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Minimum technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position) Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Excellent organizations skills Ability to effectively collaborate with others and accept challenging assignments Ability to develop support documentation or standard operating procedures Must have demonstrated verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a team setting or independently Required Competencies Problem Solving Dealing with Ambiguity Time Management Demonstrates Courage Drive for Results Interpersonal Savvy Customer Focus Integrity and Trust Self-Development Business Acumen Mental Requirements Ability to work under pressure. Physical Demands (Physical effort generally associated with this position) Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most work is done from a seated position. Must have mobility to move throughout the Credit Union, as necessary. There is potential for eyestrain from reading the computer screen. Deadlines, workloads, and pressure to achieve goals may cause increased stress levels. Working Conditions (Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position) Internal - Work is normally performed in climate-controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of duties. Length of day is unpredictable; long hours may be required to accommodate deadlines or special meetings.
