Role Overview:
Reviews all consumer loan applications, which includes auto, personal, personal line of credit, and credit card loans for accuracy and completeness while adhering to policy and procedure.
Responsibilities:
Prepares, researches, inquires, and gathers supporting information as well as documentation on approved loan applications to expedite loan processing and disbursement
Generates closing documentation for internet and branch loans prior to closing with completeness and accuracy
Review all supporting documentation submitted for indirect loans and leases, prior to booking
Contact member and/or dealer to obtain additional information/documentation as needed
Fund and disburse qualified consumer loans and leases appropriately
Make outbound calls after indirect loan/lease is funded to discuss payment methods/member concerns
Contact Member as appropriate to obtain additional information or documents as needed
Complete new member onboarding activities as it pertains to indirect loans
Scan any loan documents, contracts or other appropriate documents required for funding
Collaborates with branch staff, underwriters and dealers to provide proper member service
Tracks lien information on vehicles or vessels by inquiring with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Backs up other departmental staff as necessary
Achieves a minimum of "Satisfactory" rating on internal audits and examinations
Accomplishes the credit union's mission by completing relevant duties as needed when requested by management or other staff members
Essential Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalency certification. Associates degree preferred. One (1) to two (2) years of loan processing or general lending experience preferred. Certifications required; registry with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) or must be obtained within 6 months of employment. Knowledge of loan application, approval, and processing procedures
Knowledge of credit union loan policies as well the following regulations: Truth in Lending, HMDA, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Uniform Commercial Code, HUD, RESPA, Fair Housing Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as well as lending related laws and other NCUA regulations
Knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, regulations, and procedures
Demonstrated computer and software skills
Skill with independent problem-solving
Intermediate mathematical skills
Ability to communicate successfully with members and outside parties
Ability to express oneself clearly and articulately both orally and in writing
Ability to handle multiple and complex deadlines
Ability to exercise tact and responsibility with handling confidential information
