Job Description
Great Midwest Bank is seeking a Loan Servicing & Property Tax Escrow Specialist to join our team in the Brookfield, WI office.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:30am- 5:00pm onsite at our Brookfield location.Job Description:
The position supports loan servicing & tax escrow functions, delivers comprehensive and prompt customer service to internal and external customers and exercises quality control oversight in the execution of all duties.Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers in the execution of all assigned loan servicing duties within service level standards.
- Monitor and track escrow accounts for all loans, ensuring compliance with RESPA and internal policies.
- Review and validate escrow analysis and annual statements for accuracy.
- Issue checks for property tax and escrow surplus disbursements.
- Generate and maintain escrow records, including tickers and property tax status updates.
- Check county websites and LERETA Tax Services for property tax status and delinquency reports.
- Input new loans and collateral property details into tax service systems; cancel contracts for paid off loans.
- Resolve inadequate legal descriptions and other tax-related issues.
- Monitor and follow up on delinquent taxes to prevent loan default.
- Respond to borrower inquiries and resolve payment or account issues.
- Prepare payoff quotes as written requests are received from escrow companies, branches and clients.
- Receive and post incoming payoff checks and ensure any overages are returned to the client.
- Set up ticklers for financial tracking.
- Takes and processes payments over the phone.
- Prepares and reviews all documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintains privacy of customer personal and account information.
- Remain informed of changes in bank policies, procedures, and products.
- Assist department with other daily functions, including cross-training in other loan servicing areas to support during volume change, as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of bank loan servicing, loan originating or loan operations experience or a combination of lending and general banking experience required. Experience in real estate lending processing and documentation is beneficial.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to deal effectively and tactfully with internal and external clients.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Must be able to prioritize workflow, balance multiple priorities and deadlines, and manage a variety of projects in a fast-paced, flexible work environment with strong attention to detail.
- Able to function well under deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft Office application
- Experience with Fiserv Premier processing system is beneficial.
- Regular, consistent attendance.
- Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
