Job Description

Coppersmith, a trusted Customs Broker and International Freight Forwarder since 1948. Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic Export Analyst to join our international shipping and logistics operations. This position is responsible for initiating and processing a large volume of international export shipments in compliance with applicable all U.S. laws and regulations, ensuring seamless coordination across supply chain management and transportation. Experience with ocean and air, and exporting cotton / USDA Phyto sanitary certification a plus. Essential functions of the job and responsibilities: Coordinate transportation planning and freight arrangements, including working with third-party logistics providers (3PL), NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and fleet management. Handle BCO freight and documentation nationwide. Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and documentation requirements while managing customs procedures and export documentation. Prepare and review all required Export documentation and submission to CBP and airlines/ closes Bills of Lading. Prepare Air and ocean Freight quotes for agents, airway bills and invoicing; sends out pre alerts for Air freight.
Make bookings with the airlines:
Files ITN numbers with customs and the steamship lines. Contact vendors, agents and carriers for quotes and routing options and provides quotes to customers and agents per their request in a timely manner. Arrange for pick-up/transfer of cargo. Prepare commercial invoices, packing lists, certificate or origins in compliance with the requirements of the destination country. Make updates and changes from shipment initiation to final arrival and delivery if required. Provide accurate rates to clients. Consistently communicate with all parties involved in any given shipment with status.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3-5 years U.S. Customs Export experience. DG Certified preferred. Experience with exportation of taxidermist items, live animals, Fish and Wildlife, DG articles & ITAR (State Dept. license), IATA, TSA. Knowledge of Export regulatory documentation requirements preferred including: (Arrival Notices, Bills of Lading, ITN Filing (AES), Booking and Dispatching, (SED) Shippers Export Declaration, Experience with Letters of Credit etc.) Proficient in MS Office applications. Strong knowledge of CargoWise. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and demonstrates sound judgement for decision-making. Highly developed communication and customer service skills. Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and efficient in prioritizing tasks. Team Player/ the ability to work well with others. Demonstrated Knowledge and experience with freight forwarding, NVOCC operations, 3PL partnerships, and international shipping regulations, carrier negotiation and quoting. Effective communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to process improvement initiatives across the department and operating functions. Previous export experience, knowledge of FMC compliance for freight forwarding and NVOCC, TSA and hazmat certification.
