  • Friday | Full-Time About the Company Our client is a well-established international freight forwarding and logistics company with more than 30 years of experience providing customized transportation, customs brokerage, warehousing, and supply chain solutions.
The organization specializes in ocean freight, air freight, customs clearance, trucking, and warehousing services while delivering personalized customer support and dedicated account management. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Import Clerk to support the day-to-day coordination of international import shipments. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate documentation, timely customs clearance, shipment tracking, and communication with customers, carriers, overseas agents, and internal departments. The ideal candidate will have experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or logistics operations and possess strong organizational and communication skills. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate and monitor ocean and air import shipments from origin through final delivery. Review import documentation including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Arrival Notices, and Customs documents. Ensure shipment information is entered accurately into the company operating system. Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, arrival schedules, and delivery updates. Coordinate with customs brokers, steamship lines, airlines, truckers, warehouses, and overseas agents. Track and trace shipments and proactively resolve delays or documentation issues. Assist with customs clearance processes and ensure compliance with import regulations. Verify invoices, freight charges, and vendor billing information. Maintain shipment records and provide reporting as needed. Deliver exceptional customer service while managing multiple shipments and deadlines. Qualifications 1+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, import/export, or transportation operations. Knowledge of ocean imports, air imports, customs clearance, and international shipping documentation. Understanding of Bills of Lading, ISF filings, customs entries, and import procedures preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with freight forwarding software or transportation management systems is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment. Preferred Skills Freight forwarding or NVOCC experience. Customs brokerage knowledge. Shipment tracking and customer service experience. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and meet critical deadlines.
