Job Description
Upstream Oil & Gas Regulatory SME

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Serve as the regulatory SME for upstream oil & gas activities in Colorado
- Advise clients on permitting, compliance, enforcement risk, spill response, and remediation strategy
- Lead regulatory assessments, audits, corrective action programs, and closure planning
- Interface directly with state and local regulatory agencies
- Monitor regulatory trends, enforcement priorities, and rulemakings
- Support proposal development, client negotiations, and strategic growth initiatives
- Mentor and develop internal technical staff
STATE REGULATORY FRAMEWORK
- Colorado Energy & Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) authority under C.R.S. §34‑60 and 2 CCR 404‑1 covering permitting, drilling, production, and cumulative impact requirements
- Spill prevention, reporting, response, and corrective action compliance under ECMC Rules 912-919 with coordination with CDPHE
- Remediation, closure, and financial assurance requirements under
ECMC 1000
Series rules and CDPHE risk‑based corrective action programsWHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field
- 15+ years of upstream oil & gas regulatory experience
- Demonstrated leadership in remediation, spill response, and enforcement negotiations
- Excellent technical writing and executive communication skills
- Willingness to travel #LI-JS1

Salary Range:
$94,050.00- $156,750.
