The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international logistics and export coordination, with excellent communication and organizational skills. This role is vital to ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of all export processes, guaranteeing compliance with international regulations, and delivering top-tier service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Export Documentation:
Prepare, review, and manage all export documentation, including bills of lading, shipping instructions, certificates of origin, and other related paperwork to ensure compliance with regulations.
Coordination and Communication:
Liaise with carriers, clients, and international agents to coordinate the movement of goods and communicate shipment updates and status reports.
Customs Compliance:
Ensure all export activities adhere to U.S. and international customs regulations, including AES filings and appropriate use of Harmonized System (HS) codes.
Shipment Tracking:
Monitor and track shipments from origin to final destination, updating clients proactively and addressing any potential issues.
Problem Solving:
Quickly resolve any logistical challenges or issues that may arise during the shipment process to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
Client Support:
Provide exceptional support to clients, responding to inquiries, resolving concerns, and maintaining strong business relationships.
Cost Management:
Negotiate freight rates with carriers and manage cost-effective transportation solutions to optimize profitability.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all export shipments, including documentation and electronic data, for compliance audits and future reference.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding, export coordination, or a related logistics role.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and documentation requirements.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in logistics software and systems,
Microsoft Office Suite Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, agents, and team members. Attention to
Detail:
High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail in handling complex documentation and scheduling.
Problem-Solving Ability:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage unexpected challenges.
Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with specific trade routes and experience dealing with air and ocean shipments. Knowledge of foreign languages, particularly Spanish or Portuguese, is a plus. Certification in Freight Forwarding or related logistics credentials.
