The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the importation of goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing supply chain operations. This position requires strong analytical skills and an understanding of transportation management systems to facilitate efficient shipping and receiving processes. Duties Manage the full import lifecycle, including shipment tracking, scheduling, and follow-ups. Prepare, review, and process import documentation, such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin. Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely customs clearance and compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other regulatory requirements. Monitor and update shipment statuses, providing proactive updates to clients and stakeholders. Process shipments in and out of our FTZ Serve as the primary point of contact for import clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates on shipment progress. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and vendors. Respond to and resolve customer concerns efficiently to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Experience in Freight forwarding, import coordination, or a related logistics role.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and documentation requirements.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in logistics software and systems,
Microsoft Office Suite Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, agents, and team members. Attention to
Detail:
High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail in handling complex documentation and scheduling.
Problem-Solving Ability:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage unexpected challenges.
Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with specific trade routes and experience dealing with air and ocean shipments. Knowledge of foreign languages, particularly Spanish or Portuguese, is a plus. Certification in Freight Forwarding or related logistics credentials.
