Position Overview The Customs Broker (Supply Chain) is responsible for overseeing the movement of goods across domestic and international supply chain channels while ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and operational continuity. This role serves as a critical link between suppliers, freight partners, customs authorities, and internal operations teams to ensure products are imported, transported, and delivered without delays or regulatory issues. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing international logistics, customs processes, freight negotiations, and transportation strategy. This position requires a strong understanding of global shipping operations, import documentation, customs compliance, freight forwarding, and carrier management. The role also plays an important part in controlling transportation costs, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring inventory arrives on schedule to support business operations. For a growing fragrance and essential oil company, this role will help manage the complexities of international sourcing, container shipments, customs clearance, freight contracts, and domestic distribution while maintaining visibility across the entire supply chain. Key Responsibilities Manage domestic and international transportation and logistics operations Coordinate ocean freight, air freight, LTL, FTL, and container shipments Oversee customs clearance processes and ensure compliance with import/export regulations Review and manage commercial invoices, customs documentation, bills of lading, and shipping records Negotiate rates, service agreements, and contracts with freight forwarders, steamship lines, and transportation providers Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements Coordinate shipment schedules with suppliers, warehouses, and internal departments Track inbound and outbound shipments and proactively resolve transportation issues Maintain relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics partners Ensure timely delivery of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods Support inventory planning by maintaining visibility into shipment timelines and supply chain risks Monitor changing customs regulations and transportation requirements affecting company operations Develop and maintain logistics performance metrics and reporting Requirements :
Previous experience in international logistics, customs compliance, supply chain management, or freight operations Experience negotiating contracts and rates with freight forwarders, steamship lines, carriers, and logistics providers Strong understanding of import/export regulations, customs documentation, and international shipping procedures Experience managing ocean freight, container shipments, and domestic transportation networks Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple shipments, vendors, and priorities simultaneously Excellent communication and vendor management skills Preferred :
