Job Description

[ Position ​​​​​] Customs Broker [ Summary ] Support our international clients by working with origin, destination, and USA branch offices to coordinate the movement of ocean and air import shipments through the Customs clearance process, quickly and accurately in accordance with customer requirements and in compliance with government regulations, from first notification through final billing - A to Z. [ Essential Duties ] Provide top notch customer service through effective and prompt communications, and follow-up with each customer on all pending matters. Provide staff with daily guidance, leadership and overall support on any issues relating to operations, communications, procedures, systems applications, andproblem solving. Help monitor workload of operations staff to ensure optimal customer service and uniform workflow distribution.team closing deadlines.promptly report any problems to permit holder/management team for resolution.with company and customer service commitment standards.and liaise with other departments as needed to resolve any issues as needed.concerns, personnel matters, customer complaints, compliance issues and/orsituations involving undue risk. Review documents from origin and customer and resolve any problems proactively. File Customs entries and complete routine operational duties each day. Monitor all files to ensure timely and accurate data entry into Customs entry system. Assist with preparation and monitoring of Protests and Prior Disclosures as needed. Create accurate and timely invoices to customers to successfully meet Accounting Work with FDA, USDA, DOT, F&W, all Other Government Agencies. Ensure compliance with all Government Agencies, US Regulations and laws, and Ensure timely and accurate post-clearance delivery of imported cargo in accordance Ensure all ISF are filed timely and accurately. File post summary work with CBP. Assist with review and reconciliation of financial reports for brokerage department, Promptly inform permit holder/senior management team about any operational Assist permit holder with company and/or customer CBP audits. Help manage penalties and mitigations.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Internal Business Management:
Assist in educating business partners on the costs and complexities of international shipments. Provide and develop internal and third-party operating procedures as needed. Assist permit holder as needed to troubleshoot customer compliance issues and I to respond to questions asked by brokerage customers Ensure compliance continuity via internal audit, including POA validations, customer bond renewals, invoices and payments, conformance to mandated records retentionperiods, and other areas as directed.enhance and improve them.
Internal Team Management:
Periodic review and recommendation for update of the company's workflow processes to Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of all customs entries, Importer Security Filings (ISF), OGA actions, and other department activities. Provide oversight and direct assistance to brokerage team employees and their customers. to help determine proper HTS classifications, consistent compliance with US Customsregulations, timely filings and accurate payment of duties. Stay informed with regard to industry/compliance updates, and assist in communicating changes to staff members and customers for awareness and implementationemployees. [ Working Hours / Working style​​​​​​​] Assist in the development of ongoing training programs for brokerage department Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. On-site work at Elk Grove Village office. ​​​​​​​[ Working Location ​​​​​​​] IL ​​​​​​​[ Salary / Benefit ​​​​​​​] $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
