CUSTOMS BROKER
About the
Company:
Corbett International is a Customs House Broker and Freight Forwarder with over 100 years of experience in the logistics industry. We provide companies all over the globe with a variety of services ranging from international transport to customs brokerage. As a family owned and operated company, Corbett has a personal approach to their client relations that allows us to deliver individualized service to each of our clients.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Customs broker to handle all aspects of Customs operations. In this position, you would be responsible for the classification of various commodities, including FDA and other PGA requirements, with a focus on Customs compliance.
Responsibilities:
Review import documentation for accuracy Classification and processing of entries Work with clients on FDA and other PGA requirements Maintain client master file with client S.O.P. and records on behalf of the company Correspond closely with clients and other industry professionals on daily basis through e-mail, phone, fax Collaborate with management and internal team to facilitate daily operations and resolve issues as needed Possess a proactive approach towards developing or suggesting internal policies to allow team to perform better Handle PSC's, ruling requests and other import processes, when needed
Qualifications:
Knowledge of import entry procedures and regulations Knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule Team-player mentality and ability to work closely with others Self-starter with a sense of urgency who can take initiative, multi task and problem solve in a challenging and fast-paced environment Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite [MS Word, Excel, Outlook] Strong interpersonal skills and phone etiquette Customs Broker's License a plus
