  • Ensure that all bills are rated properly and efficiently
  • Determine and apply proper freight charges for shipments moving daily throughout the system
  • Understand the various pricing schedules, rules and services provided by Pitt Ohio
  • Audit bills for errors and inaccuracies
  • Calculate and assess detention charges when/where applicable and provide verbal or written customer notification as required
  • Properly apply adjusted freight charges based on weights and inspections submitted by operations
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned Other Duties
  • Provide feedback to Traffic Systems regarding accounts to automate
  • Support other department functions Qualifications
  • Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • High School Graduate or GED required to calculate rates and perform detailed mathematical calculations
  • Former rating experience is encouraged.
  • Must possess good math skills and strong ten key and typing.
  • Must be able to manage a continuous flow of tasks in a structured, fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Excel is preferred
  • Problem solving and analytical skills are essential
  • Must be self motivated and independent and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
  • Sedentary work - exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of forces frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; walking and standing are only required occasionally
  • Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer terminal, and extensive reading
  • Typical exposure to interior environmental conditions like air conditioning and dust; no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions
  • Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
  • Talking and hearing required to communication with and listen to others to share or receive information.
May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
