Full Job Description Job Summary:
The role ensures that all merchandise entering or leaving the company's supply chain is correctly classified for customs clearance, duty calculation, and regulatory compliance. A Customs Classifier is a compliance and trade regulations professional responsible for accurately classifying goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and, when applicable, the Export Commodity Control Number (ECCN), ensuring compliance with Mexico import/export rules.Job Functions:
Assign HTS codes for U.S. and Canadian imports, interpret chapter and explanatory notes, and apply ECCNs when required.- Apply special trade programs, antidumping/countervailing duty rates, and ensure long descriptions are accurate. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Work with logistics, procurement, and compliance teams to ensure smooth customs clearance.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1
- 2 years of experience
- Bilingual English/ Spanish
- Computer skills required
- Ability to pass BG check
