Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custom Declarant to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the import and export documentation process, ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations, and facilitating smooth cross-border shipments. Your expertise will help streamline operations, mitigate risks, and uphold the highest standards of regulatory adherence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced supply chain environment while ensuring that all customs procedures are executed efficiently and accurately. Duties Prepare and submit customs declarations in accordance with local and international regulations, including FDA regulations for applicable products. Coordinate with freight carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to facilitate timely clearance of shipments. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards related to workplace safety during handling and transportation activities. Monitor freight movements and manage transportation documentation to optimize logistics workflows. Conduct regulatory reporting and risk management activities to identify potential compliance issues before they arise. Maintain accurate records of customs documentation, shipment details, and compliance reports for audit purposes. Write detailed reports on customs activities, highlighting any discrepancies or issues requiring resolution. Requirements Proven experience in customs declaration processes within a logistics or supply chain environment. Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards relevant to transportation and warehouse operations. Familiarity with FDA regulations governing imported goods, especially those related to food, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices. Experience managing freight operations, fleet management, and transportation logistics. Ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and ensure compliance management across multiple jurisdictions. Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail for regulatory documentation and internal reports. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
