Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting/CPA professional to join our team and drive financial excellence across our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise in various accounting disciplines will support our strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and month-end closing processes. Prepare and interpret financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Conduct bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable processing, and accounts analysis to maintain precise financial records. Oversee regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring adherence to securities law and governmental accounting standards. Utilize accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Quicken, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations. Perform internal audits and support external auditing processes to ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic planning initiatives. Mentor junior team members in technical accounting practices and financial concepts while fostering a collaborative team environment. Support special projects related to non-profit accounting, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), or private equity investments as needed. Ensure accurate payroll processing and manage cash flow analysis for operational efficiency. Experience Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting areas such as SOX compliance, governmental accounting, securities law, or non-profit accounting. Proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms including PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar tools. Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles, journal entries, account reconciliation techniques, and balance sheet management. Experience with regulatory reporting requirements and audit procedures is highly desirable. Ability to analyze complex financial data through financial report writing and interpretation for diverse stakeholders. Familiarity with tax experience related to wills, trusts & estate law is a plus. Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive approach to mentoring and team collaboration.
