Job Description

Director of Accounting - Construction Industry (Onsite in Riverside, CA) We're seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead all financial and accounting operations for a growing construction company. This is a fully onsite role in Riverside, CA supporting leadership with accurate financial reporting and strategic financial insights. What You'll Do Lead and mentor the Accounting team Oversee all accounting functions Produce accurate monthly financial statements and MD&A Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning Ensure proper revenue recognition, WIP reporting, and job costing Review project financial performance and profitability Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long?range financial planning Strengthen internal controls, inventory accuracy, and financial compliance Partner closely with Operations and Executive Leadership to improve financial performance What We're Looking For CPA required Construction industry experience required 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience 5+ years in senior accounting leadership Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise Experience with job costing and percentage?of?completion accounting Advanced Excel skills and ERP/accounting system experience Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills Strong background in budgeting and forecasting Why This Role Matters You'll be the senior financial leader guiding the company through rapid growth, shaping financial strategy, and ensuring operational excellence across all projects. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
