Our client, a leading law firm based in Downtown Miami, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to lead and manage all financial operations of the firm. This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring fiscal responsibility, financial reporting accuracy, compliance, and strategic support to firm leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in law firm financial management, with a strong command of accounting best practices, budgeting, forecasting, and operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of the firm's financial operations, including accounting, billing, payroll, financial planning, and analysis Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and provide strategic insights to senior management Supervise and mentor the accounting and billing team Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with firm goals Monitor cash flow, trust accounting, and compliance with financial controls and regulatory requirements Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutions Evaluate and implement financial systems, reporting tools, and process improvements Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and best practices Prepare financial dashboards, KPIs, and profitability analysis for firm leadership Collaborate closely with the Managing Partner, COO, and department heads on financial strategy

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) Minimum 7+ years of accounting/finance experience , with 5+ years in a leadership role within a law firm Strong understanding of law firm billing systems , trust accounting, and matter management Proficiency in legal industry financial software (e.g., Aderant, ProLaw, Elite, or similar) Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment Why This Opportunity?
