3/2026 Summary APCO Holdings is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting to lead enterprise financial reporting, technical accounting, and insurance regulatory filings for the organization. This role will oversee consolidated financial reporting, Department of Insurance filings, annual audits, and technical accounting matters, while serving as the point person for purchase accounting and acquisition-related close activities.

This leader will manage a high-performing team and partner closely with Executive Leadership, FP&A, Legal, and Corporate Development to support the companys continued growth and M&A strategy. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Audit OversightLead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statementsOversee all external audit activity, including annual financial statement audits and coordination of deliverablesEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal reporting policiesManage consolidations, eliminations, and multi-entity close processesInsurance & Regulatory ReportingOversee all Department of Insurance (DOI) filings and statutory reporting requirementsEnsure timely and accurate completion of annual and quarterly insurance filingsPartner with regulatory bodies and external advisors as neededMaintain compliance within a highly regulated F&I environmentTechnical AccountingServe as the organizations technical accounting subject matter expertResearch, interpret, and implement new accounting standardsDraft technical accounting memos and formal policy documentationAdvise leadership on accounting implications of complex transactionsM&A & Purchase AccountingLead purchase accounting activities for acquisitions, including valuation coordination and opening balance sheet preparationServe as the accounting point person during acquisition close processesPartner with Corporate Development on deal structuring and financial diligenceSupport integration of acquired entities into financial reporting and ERP environmentsSystems & Reporting InfrastructureOversee financial reporting across multiple ERP systems, including NetSuite and Microsoft DynamicsPartner with IT and Finance to optimize reporting workflows, integrations, and data integrityDrive automation and process improvements to support scalabilityLeadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and develop the financial reporting and technical accounting teamEstablish review procedures, documentation standards, and close timelinesAct as a cross-functional liaison across Accounting, FP&A, and other internal teams Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred7+ years of progressive accounting, reporting, and technical accounting experiencePublic accounting foundation (Big 4 or national firm preferred)Deep expertise in
U.S. GAAP
Proven leadership of audits and regulatory filingsHands-on purchase accounting and M&A integration experienceSystems exposure to NetSuite and Microsoft DynamicsExperience within insurance, warranty, or F&I environments preferred Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type and look at a computer screen for long periods of the day.
