Confidential Controller

We are looking for a Corporate Controller for our client, which is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed services organization. With a national footprint and active acquisition strategy, this role will be instrumental in building scalable accounting infrastructure, supporting M&A integration, and driving operational excellence across a multi-entity environment. This is a high-impact position with strong visibility to executive leadership and a clear path for future advancement. Key Responsibilities Accounting Leadership Oversee all core accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and revenue recognition Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Manage consolidation across multiple entities and geographic locations Oversee project-based accounting, including percentage-of-completion (POC) methodologies Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare financial statements and management reporting for leadership and investors Support audit and tax processes in coordination with external partners Ensure compliance with lending agreements and reporting requirements Systems & Process Improvement Support and optimize ERP implementation and system integrations Partner cross-functionally to improve data flow between operational and accounting systems Standardize accounting processes across acquired entities M&A & Integration Lead accounting due diligence and support acquisition activity Manage purchase accounting and post-acquisition integrations Assist in transitioning newly acquired entities onto standardized systems and processes Leadership & Team Development Lead and develop a growing accounting team, including senior and mid-level staff Evaluate team structure and make enhancements to support continued growth Partner with executive leadership and operational teams across the business Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and multi-entity accounting Experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment preferred Exposure to ERP implementations and system transformations Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment Why This Role Opportunity to build and scale the accounting function within a high-growth organization Direct exposure to executive leadership and private equity stakeholders Involvement in M&A activity and strategic initiatives Clear path for long-term career growth Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
